Happy New Year!

As we enter the first month of this brand new year we can do so with “new hope” and “new focus”.  As one reflects upon the past 365 days, there are some days I’m sure that stand out to us and have the power to speak to us.  Job 32:7 states “... Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.”

There are many great days recorded in the Word of God.  They include: The Day of Creation! The Day of Atonement! The Day of Pentecost! The Day of the Lord!

In our own personal lives, individually we can think of special days that speak to us as well like birthdays, days of Marriage, and days of Death. But, as we begin this brand new year, there are three other days that ought to speak to us as well. These three days are - Yesterday! Today! Tomorrow!

These days speak very clearly to us and we should heed their advice.

If we would listen carefully we would hear …

1. Yesterday Speaking!

What is it saying? It would say unto us, “I am gone, but learn of me.”   There is no way to go back to yesterday to straighten out mistakes or unsolved problems. You may wish to go back and change some things of the year 2010, but, we know it is utterly impossible to change the past.  The door is closed.  Yesterday is in the unreachable past.  It is gone forever!

If Yesterday could speak into our hearts, it would say “Learn of me!” You may have had some failures during this year.

•  Maybe it has to do with your walk with God!
•  Maybe it has to do with your relationships with your Family or Friends.
•  Maybe it has to do with your Work ethic
•  Maybe in the area of finances

If Yesterday could speak it would say “Learn of Me”! Learn from your past mistakes and misunderstandings and avoid doing them again.

Paul declared in Phil 3:13-14 “... this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus,”

2. Today Speaking!

Today says to us, “I am at your service, use me!”  Today speaks to us and says,  “Yesterday is gone, there is no way to bring it back and no way to go back to it.” Today says, “I am here.... Use me wisely and use me to your advantage!”  We thank God for every New Day that dawns. When the Sun comes up every morning, understand it is a sign of a New Beginning and a New Start!  “Today is the day of Salvation”, the writer to the Hebrews says “Now is the accepted time”. {Heb 3:8)

John R. Rice said - “No matter what a man’s past may have been, his future is spotless.”  Finally,

3. Tomorrow Speaking!

It says “Don’t worry about me, trust me with God.” Do you fear for tomorrow, don’t! Leave me in God’s hands!

Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Tomorrow speaks to the child of God and it says – God still sits on His throne  and He is in Control.  Isa 66:1, “Thus saith the LORD, The heavens is my throne, and the earth is my footstool ...”

Oh yes! There are battles to fight, but the same God who helped us fight them Yesterday and  are helping us fight them Today, will be with us to
help us fight all our conflicts tomorrow.  For His word declares, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Heb.13:8

Friends may we take life one day at a time. . . .

Happy New Year!
